FAQ: Your Questions Answered

Welcome to the Gamer Advantage FAQ page! The most common questions about our innovative gaming eyewear.

Prescription Eyeglasses

Below are some common questions about prescription eyeglasses. If you have any additional inquiries, feel free to reach out to our support team for more assistance.

Can you do my prescription?

We can accommodate single-vision prescriptions with a spherical value (SPH) between -6.00 and +4.00 up to a -/+2.00 cylinder (CYL). If you have astigmatism, we need both your cylinder and axis values.

We do not offer bifocals for ADD powers, prism, or progressives. We can however, accommodate your ADD value as a single vision lens for near vision/computer or distance.

IMPORTANT: When your local optical provider, optometrist, or ophthalmologist writes your prescription, make sure to request that they include your pupillary distance (PD) on the prescription. We are unable to fill an RX without this information

*Please take note that our lenses includes laser engraving of Gamer Advantage logo.*

How do I obtain a prescription?

Make an appointment with your local optical provider, optometrist, or ophthalmologist for an eye exam. Make sure to request that they include your pupillary distance (PD) with the prescription. We are unable to fill an RX without this information.

How long will my prescription order take?

We know you are dying to get your new Gamer Advantage glasses. We want to get them to you as fast as we possibly can. Gamer Advantage eyewear is hand-assembled in the USA one order at a time to ensure the highest quality and precision.

We can confidently say that all prescription orders will ship within 10 business days from when your RX and PD was submitted.

If I do not have my prescription on hand, can I submit it later?

You can submit your order without prescription, but we cannot begin to process an order until we have your prescription. Our customer care team will email you shortly after completing your purchase.

How do I obtain my pupillary distance (PD)?

If your eye doctor didn’t include your PD measurement on your RX, there are a few things you can do to get your pupillary distance.

First, you can measure your own PD (pupillary distance) with a millimeter ruler. To learn more visit our PD Measuring Tool

Second, request the PD measurement from your eye care provider. Most eye doctor offices are familiar with patients requesting the PD to order their own eyewear, though some are hesitant to provide it if they fear you won’t purchase from them.

Lastly, visit an eye care provider (ECP or eye care professional) to have your pupillary distance measured.

Fog Away

How to apply Gamer Advantage Fog Away on your glasses?

How Do I Apply Fog Away to My Gamer Advantage Eyewear?

Tip: Work over a soft surface to avoid accidentally scratching your lenses. Over-wiping can reduce the effectiveness of Fog Away.

  • Step 1: Wash your hands with soap and water to ensure no residue or debris could scratch your lenses during application.
  • Step 2: Clean your lenses with a lens cleaner, such as the Gamer Advantage premium lens cleaner. Apply to both the front and back sides of the lenses.
  • Step 3: Dry your lenses with a soft microfiber cloth or the Gamer Advantage pouch that came with your frames. Continue to wipe until the streaks disappear and the lenses appear dry.
  • Step 4: Once your lenses are clean, spray Fog Away on both sides of the lens.
  • Step 5: Rub Fog Away evenly over the entire surface (front and back).
  • Step 6: Let the solution dry for 1-2 minutes.
  • Step 7: Any remaining streaks on the lenses can be lightly buffed out with a dry section of your microfiber cloth.

Fit and Sizing - Frame Dimensions and Tips

Proper fit is essential for comfort and performance. Below are some common questions about fit and sizing, including frame dimensions and tips to know if a frame fits you.

Frame Dimensions and Sizing?

We encourage you to check out our Fit Guide.  We suggest measuring your favorite pair of eyewear to find the best fit!

If you're still having trouble, email us a photo holding a ruler horizontally across your face, and we'll follow up with a personalized frame recommendation from one of our stylists. Send photos to: [email protected]

All frames are measured in millimeters.

Tips to know if a frame fits you

Are they comfortable? That’s a great start. Otherwise, a few rules of thumb to ensure the perfect fit are as follows: your pupils should be near the center of the lens, and the lenses shouldn’t extend past the side of your face. Additionally, your eyebrows should be visible outside of the frame, and when you smile, your cheeks shouldn’t push the frames up. Lastly, the frames shouldn’t slide down your nose.

Need help selecting a style that will fit you?

Finding the right pair of frames can be tricky, but our personal stylists are here to help every day. Simply email us ([email protected]) a picture of you, and we would be happy to help you decide.

How to fit your horizons?

Our Horizons our adjustable in multiple ways in order to ensure the perfect fit.

To adjust nose pads:

Hold the front of your frames with one hand, and with the other move the nose pads little by little outward for a looser fit, and inward for a tighter fit. Try on your glasses, and repeat adjustments if necessary.

To adjust tips:

Hold the temples (sides) of your glasses firmly with one hand. With the other move the tip at the bending point. Bend upward or downward for desired fit. Try on glasses and repeat steps if needed.

What are HSA and FSA accounts?

Flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA) are programs that allow you to set aside money (before taxes) for specific health care expenses. If you’re unsure whether or not you have a FSA or HSA, please check with your employer or insurance company.

NON-PRESCRIPTION

However, if you’re purchasing non-prescription eyewear, we recommend following up with your vision care provider to confirm if they cover blue light blocking glasses.

How to use your FSA or HSA card for your online purchase?

Gamer Advantage accepts FSA and HSA dollars for all prescription eyewear purchases as long as your FSA or HSA card is affiliated with a major credit card (such as VISA or Mastercard). If you don’t have an FSA or HSA debit card, that’s okay. Simply save your receipt and submit it to your FSA or HSA provider (your employer or HR department can provide this information) for reimbursement.

Care Guide for Our Frames

Below are some common questions about caring for your Gamer Advantage eyewear to ensure they stay in top condition.

Care tips for your glasses

You should always keep your glasses in a case when you're not wearing them. Always take them off with two hands, one hand on each temple (or arm). Never lay your glasses lenses facing down on any surface.

For optimal cleaning, always rinse your glasses off with cold water to remove particles that can scratch, then spray your lenses with an eyeglass cleaner, and dry with the Gamer Advantage microfiber cleaning cloth. NEVER use paper towels, your shirt, or napkins to dry or clean your lenses. Never use Windex or other household cleaners.

Hairspray can damage the integrity of your lenses, so we suggest taking your glasses off when applying hairspray and waiting for it to fully dry before your lenses come into contact with your hair.

Can you wash your gamer advantage cleaning cloth?

Yes. Hand washing is the best cleaning method, and with microfiber cloths all you need is water! Let the dirty microfiber cloths soak in warm (not hot) water, and use your hands to help agitate and release the dirt and grime. Rinse well and let air-dry.

For a deeper clean, add a small drop of a gentle detergent to the warm water. Use your hands to help agitate the cloth. Rinse well and let air-dry.

WARNING: Do not use fabric softeners, they damage the fibers of the cloth. We also do not recommend using your washer or dryer (even on the gentle cycle) to clean the cloth.

If your vision plan covers prescription glasses, then Gamer Advantage prescription glasses should be reimbursable. However, you should verify with your provider that they would cover the purchase before it's made.

Can I return an order paid for with my FSA or HSA?
